Capabilities

A story creator built around saved work, not one-off prompts.

Tale Island combines reusable story companions, language control, plan refinement, a private family library, deliberate sharing, PDF export, and print readiness in one workspace. The point of these features is not to generate a single picture and move on, but to help you build personalized illustrated stories you can grow over time. Each capability below maps to a real workflow in the app, so what you read here is what you can actually do once you sign in.

Private family workspace

Every account owns its own private workspace, and your tales, companions, story settings, saved assets, and generation jobs all stay scoped to that account. Nothing is mixed into a shared public pool, and nothing leaves your workspace unless you deliberately create a sharing link. That ownership model is what makes the rest of the experience feel calm and personal: it is your space for your family's stories, and the work you build up there stays with you to revisit and reuse.

Reusable saved companions

Create a companion once and Tale Island keeps its saved portrait and identity, so you can bring that same character back into later stories instead of reinventing it each time. A favorite dragon, a brave sibling, or a beloved pet can recur across many tales and stay recognizable from one story to the next. This is one of the clearest differences from a one-shot prompt tool: your characters become reusable building blocks, letting a family grow a small, consistent cast of companions across a whole shelf of personalized stories.

Saved settings and language control

Alongside companions, you can save story settings and reuse them, so the worlds and preferences you like do not have to be described from scratch every time. You also control the language directly, creating in Catalan, English, or Spanish to match how your family reads, with the interface able to keep your preferred locale. Together, reusable settings and clear language choices let you set the tone and place of a story deliberately, rather than hoping a single prompt captures everything at once.

Guided planning and refinement

The creator gathers your story idea, selected companions, language, and format, then gives you a refinement step to improve the premise and direction before anything is generated. This guided structure is the heart of Tale Island: it replaces the blank prompt box with a sequence that helps you make intentional choices and review the plan first. Because you can refine before you commit, the finished illustrated tale reflects a direction you have already shaped, which tends to make the result feel much more like the story you actually had in mind.

Reading, sharing, export, and print

Finished tales can be read in the in-app reader, shared through deliberate public links, remixed from a shared tale into a new version, and exported as a clean PDF to keep. Sharing always stays under your control, since stories remain private in your workspace until you choose to create a link. When the print checkout path is available for your situation, a finished tale can also enter that flow, so reading, sharing, exporting, and print readiness sit together as ways to enjoy a story once it is done.

Clear coin costs and failed-step refunds

Billable creation actions use coins, and Tale Island shows the cost before you confirm a step, so you always know what an action will spend before it happens. Coin packs add balance to your account wallet, and that balance is what creation actions draw from as you build stories. If a billable generation step fails, the app records a matching refund for that step, so a failure does not quietly keep your coins. This combination of up-front pricing and failed-step refunds is designed to keep the cost of creating personalized stories transparent and fair.
